I am Christine.
I have a degree in fine art, specialising in sculpture, from Sheffield Polytechnic. I now paint mostly seascapes and landscapes and exhibit my work in local galleries. My inspiration comes from being in nature. I love nothing better than a walk in the woods or along a beach, in any weather.
I also work on commissions. It keeps me on my toes, as you never know what you’ll be asked to do!
For over twenty years I worked as a primary school teacher, mostly in Early Years.
I now deliver workshops for supported learners and I also help to run a community art group.
Jenny and I first met when we were both volunteering, several years ago, at a community gallery in Ellesmere Port. It’s great painting together, transforming a neglected space into something unexpected or working on a private commission, bringing someone’s creative idea to life.
We experience first-hand what a positive impact art can have.
My style is quite edgy. I am also known as Action Jen because I am passionate about upcycling, repurposing and getting involved in community art projects. One of my passions is finding unusual materials to work into my designs.
I enjoy painting pop art style canvases, using lettering, bold pattern and colour. I hand paint images onto leather jackets for a brand called ‘GoGairy Handpainted’.
Whilst studying Art and Design at West Cheshire College, I was presented with The Freeman and Guilds Award for Art and Design from the Mayor of Chester. This is an achievement I was very proud of.
When Christine and I team up, we have a great chemistry. It is the best thing ever to hear people say that what we do makes them feel happy and effects their lives in a positive way.
